The city of Caruaru is located 137 km from the capital in the Agreste mesoregion of the State of Pernambuco and the microregion of the Ipojuca Valley, and is characterized as the most populous city in the interior of the State. Despite the remarkable dissemination of signs produced by digital processes across the city’s landscape, its typographic culture still preserves the tradition of hand-painted signs in the most popular neighborhoods, as well as the painting of mud flaps for trucks and smaller vehicles.
