Presentation

The publication of this site-gallery may be characterized as a new phase for the Sign Painters of Pernambuco project, and we have thus made part of the photographic collection available for consultation. The collection is made up of more than 1,000 images recorded from 2008 onwards during the numerous field studies conducted in the state of Pernambuco by the project team. The photos have been organized by city, type of media, letter painters and cataloged typographic styles. Most of the photographs have been taken by the photographer Damião Santana.
